About the Farm
Stoneboat farm is a dreamy wonderland. Situated on 225 acres of land (gardens, hay fields, meadows, woods, ponds and more) in Lanark Country, Ontario. The property includes a farm house, a massive creation studio/barn (with sprung dance floor), three individual cabins, two mid-size barns and a workshop. (1.5 hours from Ottawa, 3.5 from Toronto, 20 mins from Perth or Westport)
Our beautiful farm is frankly, one of a kind. You don’t have to take our word for it. It’s the ideal space for weekend getaways, family reunions, working retreats, Yoga retreats, theatre or dance rehearsals, weddings, conferences or if you just want a quiet place in nature to decide what you want to be when you grow up.
The list of artists who have made their work here is extensive: albums have been recorded, short films have been shot, novels written, thesis’ completed (!) photo shoots, lookbook shoots, scripts, theatre plays, paintings, quilting, leather work, choreography, yoga-teacher training. There is no shortage of inspiration. It’s got good vibes.
DETAILS
Farm house - Spacious and cozy, 4.5 bedrooms, sleeps 8-12. Fully equipped, heating, wood stove, microwave, bbq, gas burners, dishwasher, washroom with shower, living room with crokinole + box of boardgames, dining room with a long hardwood table that seats 14. Two porches with rocking chairs to rock with your morning coffee as you watch the humming birds at the feeders. A den which houses about 2000 dvds/vhs and a roll top desk for penning film critiques.
Mudroom - Off the kitchen, it holds all the baseballs, bats, gloves, golf balls, bocci balls, croquet mallets, cowboy boots and random other stuff a sportsy hoarder could ever dream up.
Cabins - Three very private, utterly poetic 10 x 10 bunkies. It’s like you’re camping but, not. Includes desks and beds, sleeps 6 total. No outhouse or electricity as of yet so either pee in grass or walk to farmhouse (little solar lights provided).
Workshop - Workspace for building, painting, crafting. Very special place alert
Piggery/Library - Mid sized barn, filled with books, two desks, a dozen wooden chairs. Perfect for writing, reading dreaming, meetings. Sliding screen door overlooking orchard. Sleeps 1-2.
Big Barn - Here is where the dreams come true. 24 x 32 ‘ 16 foot ceilings. Totally empty, Sprung dance floor. Large barn doors to watch the cows as they watch you.
Wood-fired outdoor pizza/bread oven - You heard me. 90 second pizzas. Hand crafted in the traditional Quebecois style.
The Land - 225 acres including hay fields, beaver dams, marshland, maple groves, orchards, self-guided trails, creeks, woods to get lost in, cows to commune with, cross-country ski/snowshoe haven.
